Buckthorne Road
The site of Buckthorne Road is a fantastic example of an underutilised brownfield small site, transforming an overgrown rear garden into a thoughtfully designed new family home in a highly sustainable urban location.
Working alongside architects Gouldstone & Co, we have designed a bespoke three-bedroom detached home arranged as a courtyard house, carefully designed to maximise light, outlook and privacy whilst responding sensitively to its constrained surroundings.
Sourced in-house by Caswell&Dainow, the site presented a unique opportunity to unlock a difficult parcel of land with direct frontage onto Brockley Footpath. The team developed a creative design solution which takes influence from Lewisham’s Small Sites guidance, delivering a contemporary home that sits comfortably within the existing urban grain without compromising neighbouring amenity.
Located in Brockley within the London Borough of Lewisham, the design uses high quality materials and subtle detailing to create a distinctive yet contextually appropriate home that balances modern architecture with sensitivity to the surrounding streetscape.
